How to Remove Whiteheads

A whitehead is a pore clogged with sebum and keratin. This clogged pore is directly under the skin, very close to the surface. Because it’s so close to the skin’s surface, it shows up as a small white bump. Even people with cleanest skin can get whiteheads from time to time, but proper skin care can reduce outbreaks. This article will give you a variety of daily and weekly techniques to try in your battle for clearer skin.

Step 1

Every one to two weeks. Fill a pot or large bowl with very hot, steamy water. To the water, add 2 to 3 drops of tree tree essential oil, which can be purchased at your local health food store. Place a towel over your head and steam your clean face for 5 to 10 minutes. Although in the short term, this might cause more whiteheads, remember you are drawing impurities out that will later cause blemishes.

Step 2

Two times a day. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser. You don’t need to use anything other than your fingertips to work the cleanser into your skin. Make sure your hands are clean before you wash your face. After washing your face, rinse well with warm water and follow the warm rinse with a cool rinse. Gently pat your skin dry and follow up with an astringent or toner and gentle moisturizer.

Step 3

Two times a week. After washing your face, use a gentle scrub or exfoliating cleanser. Again, you don’t have to use anything other than your clean fingertips. Rinse well, pat dry and follow up with astringent or toner and moisturizer.

Step 4

For current breakouts, put a thin layer of anti-acne cream on the infected/infection prone area before following up with your daily moisturizer.

Step 5

When you’re thirsty, drink water instead soda, juice or alcohol. Water is the best method to help rid your body of impurities.

Step 6

Chocolate doesn’t cause whiteheads; that’s a myth. However, healthy eating can improve the health of your skin. Be sure to add a lot of dark leafy green vegetables to your daily diet.
